4.2-magnitude quake damages thousands of houses in SW China

Beijing, June 14 (Xinhua-ANI): A 4.2-magnitude earthquake, which hit the border region of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces late Tuesday, left three people with minor injuries and more than 2,700 houses damaged, local authorities said Thursday.The government of Junlian county in Sichuan said the quake hit at 9:40 p.m. It damaged 2,737 houses in Junlian, and 10 of which had collapsed. Three people in the county sustained minor injuries.The roads and water conservation facilities in some townships have also been damaged.A special fund has been established by the county government to finance the restoration of the damaged houses.
