Japanese police arrest last Aum cult fugitive

Tokyo, June 15 (ANI): Police in Japan have arrested the last fugitive of the Aum Shinrikyo doomsday cult, ending a 17-year hunt.

Katsuya Takahashi is suspected to be involved in the 1995 Sarin nerve gas attack on the Tokyo subway system that killed 13 people, the BBC reports.he police verified the identity of the man after detaining him at a cafe in Tokyo.

Takahashi has been on the run since the attacks, which also injured 6,000 people. (ANI)
