Yagnik, Sanu say vacuum created by Mehdi Hassan's death can never be filled

Karachi, June 17 (ANI): Bollywood singers Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu during their visit to the late ghazal maestro Mehdi Hassan's resting place in Karachi , said the singer's death marked an end of an era in the subcontinent's music history.

"No one would ever be able to fill the vacuum created by his demise. He was one of a kind ghazal singer," The News quoted them, as saying.

Yagnik said she had grown up listening to Hassan's ballads, adding her favourite was his 'Dono Jahan Teri Mohabbat Main Har Kay, Woh Ja Raha Hay Koi Shab-e-Gham Guzar Kary'.

Both the singers had come to Pakistan to attend the last rites of Hassan, but failed to get security clearance for the same. (ANI)
