Khar may meet Clinton in Brazil this week to discuss 'apology over NATO strike'

Islamabad, June 18 (ANI): A meeting is expected to take place between U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Pakistan Foreign Minister
Hina Rabbani Khar, regarding the apology over the Salala incident, on the sidelines of Rio+20
conference in Brazil this week, official sources said. However, according to the Daily Times, sources in the Foreign Affairs Ministry have clarified that no such meeting has been officially scheduled so far. "We never said that a meeting between them is ruled out but what we know is that no such meeting is scheduled officially," a Foreign Affairs Ministry official said.U.S. Embassy spokesman Robert Raines also denied having an official notification of the meeting.According to the U.S. State Department, Clinton will lead a delegation of officials to the United Nations sustainability conference in Rio de Janeiro from June 20-22. Officials of the Prime Minister's House have said that Khar and Minister for Climate Change Rana Muhammad Farooq will represent Pakistan at the conference.Analysts say it is a crucial time when the two leaders would be in Brazil, although for a different reason, but they might try to hold a meeting on bilateral issues and reopening of the NATO supply routes.
