London, June 18 (ANI): Former
British Prime Minister Tony Blair has suggested that he would like to be president of the European Union, according to a report.Blair, during an interview with the BBC Radio, however, said that he did not want a major job in the EU "at the moment".When asked if he had would like to be the elected president of the EU, Blair replied, 'I think that's a way, way down the line'."When the European presidency came up last time I would have taken it if the job had been offered, but I've no thought of stepping back into politics, European politics, at this moment," he added.According to The Telegraph, Blair was tipped for the president's job in November 2009, until Gordon Brown
, the then- Prime Minister, suddenly dropped his support.He was dumped by Brown before the European Union's 27 leaders even started what had been billed as a marathon private meeting in Brussels to select a candidate for the post.In a move called as an EU stitch-up, the unknown Baroness Ashton was appointed the EU's High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy.
