Pak's women MPA's 'fear mistreatment' outside Assembly
Jun 23, 11:56 am
Islamabad, June 23 (ANI): Opposition members in the Punjab Assembly (PA) expressed grave concern over the recent violent attacks on women MPAs, who are now fearing mistreatment outside the Assembly premises as well.According to the Daily Times, PML-Q's Chaudhry Zaheer said that a "trouble-creating team" from the treasury's side, which included Allaudin and Abdul Razzaq Dhillon, was responsible for the awful occurrence in the House and the atmosphere of the assembly could not be improved until the Speaker punished them.He urged the Speaker to take a serious action against Dhillon, who reportedly used abusive language and levelled "horrible" allegations against the female members of the assembly.Zaheer expressed concerns over the misbehaviour with women legislators outside the PA premises, and claimed that the women MPAs are now fearing being mistreated by PML-N
members, and have therefore sought protection.Earlier, a massive shoe hurling incident took place between members of the treasury and the opposition in the Pak
Punjab Assembly, after a male member labeled the female members as " circus dancers", following which a female opposition member reportedly hurled a shoe at Allaudin after he passed objectionable comments against them.Zaheer added that the women MPAs within the PA would eventually go to court, if the situation was not brought under control.
