Manmohan Singh congratulates new Pak PM Raja Pervez Ashraf

New Delhi, June 23 (ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has congratulated Raja Pervez Ashraf on his appointment as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Dr. Manmohan Singh in his message expressed confidence that both India and Pakistan will continue to make progress in their bilateral dialogue on all issues and build good neighborly relations by strengthening cooperation in all the areas for the benefit of the people of both the countries.

Ashraf was administered the oath of office by President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday night, after he was elected as the new Prime Minister by the National Assembly.

The latest developments took place after Pakistan's Supreme Court disqualified former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani.

The Court ruled that Gilani was ineligible for refusing to reopen corruption cases against the president. (ANI)
