Murdered Brit-Indian bride's family outraged over cruel 'killer holiday' T-shirts

   Jul 1, 10:18 am

London, July 1 (ANI): The father of honeymoon murder victim Anni Dewani has expressed anger over selling of T-shirts carrying an objectionable slogan referring to the gruesome murder of the Indian-origin bride.

The T-shirts, the brainchild of Durban businessman Dinesh Dowlath, carry the message, "Dewani Tours - Treat your wife to a killer holiday."

The cruel message, which uses a font type resembling Hindi script, has angered Anni's family.

"The pain of losing Anni is bad enough and not knowing the full story of how she came to be murdered compounded our grief," the Daily Express quoted her father Vinod Hindocha, as saying.

"Now we have this unforgivable act by somebody making money and ridiculing her death. It breaks my heart," Hindocha said.

"It is beyond belief that some people could think this type of message can be acceptable. I am horrified. These T-shirts must be taken off the shelves," he added.

The insult comes 18 months after Anni, 28, was shot to death by a gunman in a township near Cape Town.

Her British husband Shrien, wanted by police, is fighting extradition on mental health grounds. (ANI)
