Tripoli, July 7 (Xinhua-ANI: A polling station in Libya' s second largest city Benghazi was attacked Saturday by extreme Islamists, local Libya Al-Hurra TV reported.

The attack occurred after voting started in the eastern Libyan city, the TV said.

There is not yet any report about casualties in the attack.

Libyans started to vote Saturday morning for their first national congress election after the fall of former leader Muammar Gaddafi.

However, the North African nation has been witnessing frequent bursts of violent acts against the landmark election. Polling in the cities of Ajdabiya and Brega was suspended as some electoral materials there had been destroyed by arsonists. (Xinhua-ANI)
