Pak troops kill Afghan militants ahead of PM Ashraf's Kabul visit

Islamabad, July 19 (ANI): Ahead of the Pakistan prime minister's maiden visit to Afghanistan on Thursday to discuss cross-border attacks being mounted by Afghan militants on Pakistan, Pakistan i troops reportedly killed six Afghan militants in a cross-border attack in Chitral.

"A group of militants tried to infiltrate, but their attempt was foiled by troops. Militants fled leaving six bodies behind," The Nation quoted a security official, as saying.

PM Raja Pervez Ashraf is also expected to discuss Taliban peace talks during his trip to Kabul. Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and other senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will accompany Ashraf. (ANI)
