Indian-American ex-headmistress jailed for having sex with minor student

Washington, July 24 (ANI): An Indian-American ex-school principal in the United States has been convicted for having sex with a 13-year-old student about a decade ago.

According to New York Post, Lindo Sinha, an ex-headmistress of an Upper East Side Montessori school, will serve at least 2 1/3 years in prison for having sex with a student who was just 13, and is now a New York City cop .

"This is a woman of every advantage, and she preyed on her victim for years," Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Carol Berkman said.

"She hijacked his life as a child," the judge said of the victim, describing years of meetings with the Montessori School of New York headmistress he called 'Miss Sinha'.

The victim only came forward after he finally broke off their nine-year "relationship" in 2004.

Sinha, 46, until today remained free on bail, pending appeal, for five years since a Manhattan jury convicted her of a depraved predation that might never have been exposed.

Sinha's act came to light after she filed false rape and assault charges against the police officer to avenge his attempts to break off their relationship.

The victim, whose name is being withheld, was a Queens-based, 24-year-old recruit in 2007, when he testified against Sinha, and remains a cop serving the public. (ANI)
