Jul 24, 4:39 pm
London, July 24 (ANI): Around
63,000 bogus foreign students came to Britain in 2011, as ministers have 'bottled out' of solving the problem, according to a report. According to The Daily Express, the immigrants sneaked into the UK with fake student visas in 2011
, the MigrationWatch claimed.Government figures suggest more than 44 percent of the 141,700 overseas students who came to the UK last year could be bogus. Most students came from Burma, where 62 percent would have been refused a visa on doubts about credibility. From Bangladesh, India and Nigeria, 59 percent of students were considered to be bogus. The embarrassing report is based on findings of a Home Office pilot scheme.ir Andrew Green, chairman of MigrationWatch, said: "We have clear evidence of abuse on a major scale"."Bogus students come here to work illegally and thus take jobs from British workers. If it is clear from the circumstances that a student is unlikely to go home, the visa should not be granted," he said. (ANI)
