Sydney, July 27 (ANI): Triple murderer Max Sica, who has been accused of killing three Singh sibling s in Australia, has lodged his appeal against the convictions and the record 35-year jail sentence, according to a report.

Sica was found guilty of killing his former girlfriend Neelma Singh, 24, and her siblings Kunal, 18, and Sidhi, 12, at their Brisbane home in April 2003.

Sica, 42, has appealed his convictions and sentence on 12-grounds and include claims the jury verdict was unreasonable and could not be supported by evidence, The Courier Mail reports.

"The sentence imposed (against Sica) was manifestly excessive," a copy of the three page appeal document said.

Justice John Byrne, who sentenced Sica to mandatory life terms for each of the sibling's murders, also ordered the convicted killer serve a minimum of 35-years in custody.

This is the longest mandatory prison term ever handed out in Queensland legal history.

Lawyers for Sica lodged documents into the Court of Appeal registry, but a date has been yet to be scheduled for the hearing.

According to the report, unless his appeal is successful, Sica would be at least 73 years old before tasting freedom again. (ANI)
