US' defense agency ordered to 'stop using computers to surf Internet for porn'

Washington, Aug 2 (ANI): Employees of the United States Government's hi-tech Missile Defense Agency have reportedly been asked to stop surfing the web for porn.

According to a Bloomberg report, MDA Executive Director John James Junior issued a memo o staff and contractors reminding them not to engage in 'inappropriate use of the MDA network'.

"Specifically, there have been instances of employees and contractors accessing websites, or transmitting messages, containing pornographic or sexually explicit images," the memo said.

"These actions are not only unprofessional, they reflect time taken away from designated duties, are in clear violation of federal and DoD and regulations, consume network resources, and can compromise the security of the network though the introduction of malware or malicious code," it added.

According to News.com.au, the report pointed out that those found in breach of the rules ould face 'appropriate' disciplinary action and that their security clearances could be jeopardised.

The Missile Defense Agency develops, tests and implements the America's ground and sea-based missile defence programs with funding running into the billions of dollars. (ANI)
