Terrorists planning attacks on Pak Air Force base to avenge killing of colleague: Reports

Lahore, Aug 10 (ANI): The
Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is reportedly planning to attack the Pakistan Air Force Base and other military and security establishments in Lahore before Eid, intelligence reports have revealed.The reports stated that at least two TTP outfits had made arrangements for attacks to avenge the killing of an alleged TTP leader, Ghaffar Qaiserani alias Saifullah, in a police encounter at Dera Ghazi Khan on August 1, reports The Express Tribune.According to one report, members of the Qari Yasin Group, based in Miranshah, were planning to attack the PAF base and installations near the PAF Market on August 21 or 22.Another stated that a team led by Qari Aslam alias Ustad of the Moavia Group, also based in Miranshah, was also planning terrorist attacks towards the end of Ramazan. Their main target toom was PAF base, and other security establishments like the offices of the Inter Service Intelligence ( ISI), Military Intelligence
(MI), and the Intelligence Bureau.The group had also selected targets for assassinations and kidnapping in the Punjab as well, it added.Another report revealed a plot to blow up an oil tanker in the NATO supply routes. It stated that an IED had been found on an oil tanker at Taheemabad on the Layyah-Kot Addu Road, in the jurisdiction of Kot Sultan police station, on August 7. The driver noticed the device placed above the tyres and alerted local authorities. Police and civil defence officials defused the device before it exploded. (ANI)

Johannesburg, May 20 (ANI): South Africa's Justice Minister Jeff Radebe has said the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and police in South Africa will be the deciding authority on whether to prosecute or not to prosecute the well-connected Gupta family for allowing their plane to land at the strategic and sensitive Waterkloof Air Force base for the wedding of Vega Gupta and Indian-born Aakash Jahajgarhia at Sun City.
