Islamabad, Aug. 12 (ANI): The Hindu Panchayat of Pakistan has sought help from the U.S. Embassy and the Indian High Commission to look into incidents of kidnapping of Hindu businessmen in the country, said Laxmandas Perwani, former MPA and chief of the Hindu Panchayat .

Perwani said criminals day in and day out were targeting the Hindu community, and hence the Panchayat had sent letters to the Indian high commission and to the U.S. Embassy , seeking their help, reports The News.

He added that the police were paying no heed to the plight of the Hindus suffering due to the current law and order situation in the country, compelling the Hindu families to leave the country.

Perwani said houses of 70 Hindu families were burgled and two youths murdered in the last five months alone.

Moreover, during the same period, two businessmen were kidnapped in broad daylight who were released after paying ransom of millions of rupees.

"Over 17 Hindu families in Mirpurkhas alone have migrated, majority of them to India and some to Dubai during the last five months," Perwani said.

He said the step of writing to foreign missions was taken when the police and the politicians did not pay any heed to the grievances of Hindus. (ANI)
