LiLo's criminal record may make her lose out on Liz Taylor role

London, Mar 29 (ANI): Lindsay Lohan, who is struggling to get a work permit that could resuscitate her moribund film career, may miss out on playing Elizabeth Taylor due to her criminal record.

The 25-year-old actress has been cast in the Lifetime movie, Liz and Dick, as the late Elizabeth Taylor.

It's the part of a lifetime, but like many movies it requires the actress to shoot it in Toronto, Canada, where overheads are reasonable.

According to TMZ, Lohan has two DUIs and a theft conviction on her record, and Canada doesn't freely issue permits to criminals.

However, they still like revenue, so there is a chance, but there is a very complicated process that she must follow to get a work permit.

Judge Stephanie Sautner is expected to take her off probation for her Beverly Hills DUI case.

The judge is also expected to change her status in the jewellery heist case, from formal probation to informal, meaning she won't have to report to her probation officer or appear in court, as long as she doesn't break the law.

If this happens, it could smooth to way to getting the permit issued, and the 'Freaky Friday' star's lawyer is said to already be filling out the paperwork.

Meanwhile Lohan's automobile insurance company has paid a woman chased by the actress on the night of her infamous 2007 Santa Monica DUI arrest, more than half a million dollars

Lohan engaged in a high-speed chase with the mother of her assistant Michelle Peck, and a passenger in the car, Tracie Rice on July 24, 2007.

The settlement was reached with Lohan's insurance company and Rice last year for more than 500k dollars, according to Radar Online.

She has also been accused of carjacking and kidnapping three men that night and they are currently in the process of suing.

They claim their lives were endangered and that case is scheduled to go to trial this summer.

The redhead star is currently under investigation for a hit and run incident that allegedly occurred about two weeks ago. (ANI)
