Mila Kunis 'cried everyday' while struggling to speak English as a kid

London, May 6 (ANI): Mila Kunis has opened up about moving from her native Ukraine to America, revealing she cried every day because she couldn't speak English.

nis' family fled from the Ukraine when she was a youngster to escape the hatred that was engulfing the country.

The Jewish actress had to hide her religion as a result of the prejudice stemming from the Holocaust, and although her grandparents managed to survive the Second World War, up to 900,000 other Jews had been murdered.

Her mum, Elvira, and father, Mark, decided to take Mila and her brother Michael over to the States to build a new life away from the hatred.

But she has now admitted she found it difficult being a foreign child in the English-speaking nation.

"I cried every day. I didn't understand the culture. I didn't understand the people," the Daily Mail quoted her as telling the Sun.After the Holocaust , in Russia you were not allowed to be religious. So my parents raised me to know I was Jewish," she said.

But she soon found a way of overcoming the language barrier - she was enrolled in acting classes to help improve her English.

It proved to be a good move for the star as she then got herself a manager and landed her first acting job on screen on US TV show 'Days Of Our Lives'. (ANI)
