JLo 'sad for' Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

Washington, July 13 (ANI): Jennifer Lopez has said that like the rest of tinseltown, she was rocked by the news of Katie Holmes ' split from Tom Cruise at the end of last month.

The 42-year-old singer insists that nobody wins in the settlement, and that it is about more than just child custody.

"I heard about it when I was in South America and I was stunned," Contactmusic quoted Lopez as telling Entertainment Tonight.

Lopez, whose father is a Scientologist like Cruise, announced her split from her estranged husband Marc Anthony last year.

"I'm sad for them. They're both really lovely people, and just like Marc and I, it's not what you want to happen. You fight and you try until you realize you can't anymore," she said.

Holmes is keeping primary custody of their six-year-old daughter Suri Cruise and the 50-year-old actor will have visitation rights.

However singer-and-actress Lopez believed that it's about more than just their biological daughter together.

"You know I just wish them, you know, peace in their decision. And really for Suri and their other children as well, because you become such a family, it's not just Suri, it's Connor and Isabella and everybody, you know, you all become a family," she said.

"And when that breaks apart, nobody wins; everybody's heartbroken in some way. And I just wish them peace," she added. (ANI)
