Sir Ian Botham son's ex wife detained over 'dognapping' charges
Nov 26, 2:56 pm
London, Nov 26 (ANI): Estranged wife of
Sir Ian Botham's son has been arrested and quizzed over the disappearance of a pet dog from the former England cricketer's North Yorkshire home.Sarah-Jayne Botham, 37, was detained by police over charges of stealing Woody the spaniel and has been released on bail pending further inquiries. The pet, belonging to Liam Botham's fiancee Emma Sayle, disappeared last Sunday shortly after being seen with Mrs Botham outside her home, which is owned by the cricket legend, the Daily Mail reported. They were apparently captured on CCTV together and after sometime Mrs Botham drove off in her car.The mother-of-three has persistently denied the charges of taking the dog and has asserted that she does not have any idea regarding his whereabouts. After discussing the investigation with police Liam has increased the reward for finding Woody from 2500 pounds to 3,000 pounds to show that they 'are not messing around.'"Woody has never run off in his life," said Liam.Despite the arrest there have been no further developments in tracing Woody."He has been taken as far as I'm concerned. I have my own ideas what happened and a lot of people think the same as I do," Liam said."We don't want to accuse anyone. All we are saying is the CCTV is fairly conclusive - that Woody has not been seen after being with my ex-wife.""But I am not accusing her. She says she has no idea of where the dog is. We just hope Woody returns. That's all I care about," he added. (ANI)
