Louise Redknapp dropped from culinary show

London, Feb 17 (ANI): Louise Redknapp has been ditched from the show 'Something for the Weekend' as it changes channels and names.

While Redknapp has been given the axe, her co-hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer are getting their own new show.

The male presenters, who appeared together on ' Something for the Weekend' from 2006, are to front a brand new programme which is moving from BBC2 to Channel 4.

Labelled 'Sunday Brunch' the show will take a similar format to their former series, with a number of celebrity guests and cookery elements.

Producers have described the show as a programme 'packed to the brim with celebrity guests, super tasty cookery and all the wit, chat and banter needed to see you through a Sunday morning,' the Daily Mail reported.

Redknapp joined the show in 2010, taking place of Amanda Hamilton who was the original female anchor when it first launched.

Throughout the series, the wife of footballer Jamie Redknapp, would interview stars while questioning Rimmer on his culinary treats.

But earlier this year it was announced that BBC bosses were axing the show following six years on air.

It appears that no female is set to take Redknapp's place in the revamped format as only the two presenters have been drafted in.

"We felt that the partnership between Tim and Simon needed to be at the heart of the new show which is why they will be the two hosts," a representative for the show said. (ANI)
