'Taser ball' played with 300,000-volt stun gun gaining popularity

London, Feb 20 (ANI): Ultimate Taser Ball, a football-style game in which players use Tasers to stun their opponents, is becoming a hit.

The game has eight players, two nets, a foam ball and eight stun guns and its aim is to carry the ball to your opponents' net and score.

Along the way, players on the rival team try to jolt the opposition with a 300,000-volt stun gun.

"It's not technically a police grade Taser," the Daily Star quoted Eric Prum, 25, one of the founders of Ultimate Taser Ball, as saying.

"But those things really do hurt.

"The reason it's really cool is because it causes your muscles to spasm, therefore you're going to drop the ball, you're going to trip, you're going to fall over. It's fun," he said.

The stun gun s deliver significantly less electric current than the 1 amp needed to kill.

The sport originated in Canada but the first games were played in California.

An exhibition match is also being planned for Bangkok in Thailand. (ANI)
