London, Apr 24(ANI): Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has accepted he was powerless to lift club supporters and the fans on the back of the double defeats in the Champions League to Chelsea and in the La Liga to Real Madrid.

"I cannot tell them to be optimistic if they don't feel optimism," The Daily Star quoted Guardiola, as saying.

"If I lose I cannot tell our followers to have faith. If they have doubt they have their reasons," he added.

Barcelona's 1-0 defeat to Chelsea last Wednesday defeat at Stamford Bridge was followed by a 2-1 home loss to bitter rivals Real Madrid on Saturday. (ANI)
