Love rat Jermain Defoe claimed to be happy with girlfriend on TV show

   Apr 28, 3:32 pm

London, Apr 28 (ANI): Jermain Defoe had revealed that he was happy to be girlfriend Alexandra Burke in an interview, much before he cheated on the singer with a model.

The Spurs and England striker, 29, romped with Geordie model Laura Brown, 23, in Newcastle last month after two previous meetings, the Sun reported.

But at a recording of Sky1 sports panel show 'A League of Their Own', he said his relationship with the singer was going well.

Cheeky comedian panellist Jack Whitehall told him: "You've had more a*** than the Big Brother diary room chair."

But Defoe hit back, saying: "Things are good. She's been giving me some vocal lessons."

Burke - who won 'The X Factor' in 2008 - is later said to have told Whitehall: "You and I are going to have words after the show, mate!"

The scenes were filmed weeks ago and were due to be broadcast in mid-May.

Bosses may now re-edit the show, depending on how Defoe and Burke's relationship goes. (ANI)
