Punters bet fortune on another 'red card' for bad-boy Balotelli during Manchester derby

London, Apr 28(ANI): A fortune has been bet on Manchester City's controversial striker Mario Balotelli getting a red card in the derby game on Monday against league toppers Manchester United.

Bookies have already seen thousands of pounds being placed in what they have described as the biggest red card wager ever.

Balotelli is expected to return for Monday's highly anticipated game at the Etihad stadium after a three-match ban following his dismissal against Arsenal.

He is just 16-1 to add to the three red cards he has already received this season, and this compares to the 28-1 offered on Chelsea's John Terry, 30, getting sent off against QPR earlier this season.

"This is the most popular red card bet we have ever seen on a specific player in a specific match. He's a hot-headed guy and he will be in an absolute cauldron on Monday night," The Daily Star quoted Darren Haines, from Paddy Power, as saying. Punters are not backing him to score but instead backing him to cause City to lose the game by getting sent off," he added. (ANI)
