Chelsea owner Abramovich 'hell-bent' on bringing back Mourinho

   May 4, 3:38 pm

London, May 4(ANI): Chelsea's billionaire owner Roman Abramovich is adamant about bringing back former manager Jose Mourinho back to Stamford Bridge, despite the Portuguese claiming he would stay on as Real Madrid manager for next season at least.

The Russian business tycoon wants an experienced manager to overhaul the squad and hopes Mourinho will change his mind.

Mourinho, who joined his players on an open-top bus parade on Thursday to celebrate Real's title win, is the most successful manager in Chelsea history, the Daily Mail reports.

He was fired after a 1-1 draw against Rosenborg in the Champions League in 2007 and the 18 million pound compensation Abramovich paid Mourinho and his staff was thought to be a major hesitant block to his potential return.

But Abramovich is prepared to overlook that overwhelming payout if he can persuade Mourinho to return, as he is convinced a partnership that appeared fractured beyond repair in 2007 can be invigorated. (ANI)
