Di Matteo has no qualms with 'playing ugly' to help Chelsea win Cup double
May 5, 4:27 pm
London, May 5(ANI): Interim Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has said he has no issues with playing ugly during the two cup finals if it ensures a double
for the Blues. Chelsea would face Liverpool in the FA Cup final on Saturday at Wembley, and Di Matteo said he would be happy with a 1-0 win.The Blues also face Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final on May 19 at the Allianz Arena."Scoring goals, creating chances, means you are playing in the right direction. But there is also a time when you have to defend as a team. It can't all be one-way," The Daily Star quoted Di Matteo, as saying."It's always better to win. If you can win with some attractive style, that's probably perfection. I'd sign for 1-0 against Liverpool and Bayern now," he added.
Di Matteo took over from his former boss Andre Villas-Boas after the coach was sacked two months ago.Asked if Blues supporters were bothered about how their team played, he said: "Maybe you should do a survey with the fans to see what they think about it.""Winning is important. If you can do it with the way you think is best to win the games, it can entertain as well. People come to watch football to be entertained at times," he added. (ANI)
