'Bad boy' Chisora's heavyweight 'grudge' fight against Haye 'inevitable', says promoter

   May 5, 4:27 pm

London, May 5(ANI): Banned heavyweight boxer Dereck Chisora's promoter Frank Warren is prepared to announce a heavyweight 'grudge' match between Chisora and fellow British boxing star David Haye.

Warren has made it official that a press conference will take place at Upton Park, West Ham United's stadium, on Tuesday for 'the biggest fight out there'.

Chisora had his boxing licence withdrawn indefinitely after being deemed as 'not a fit and proper person' by the British Boxing Board of Control, following his involvement in a high-profile brawl with Haye in Munich following his world title against Vitali Klitschko on Feb 18.

Chisora had also slapped Klitschko at the weigh-in and spat water in the face of his brother, Wladimir, and Warren, who promotes Chisora, has been adamant for weeks that a grudge bout between the pair was " inevitable".

"It's a natural fight, it doesn't matter what anyone says. It's a bigger fight than either of them fighting Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko. There's a lot for them to fight about, in a proper environment," The Telegraph quoted Warren, as saying.

July 1 and July 14 are possible dates at Upton Park, but if they fight in the UK, they will have to be sanctioned by the British board. Otherwise, the contest could be staged abroad. (ANI)
