Ferguson slams 'noisy neighbors' Man City for turning transfer market 'insane'

   May 6, 1:30 pm

London, May 6(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has blasted title rivals Manchester City for turning the transfer market 'insane' by paying inflated amounts of money for players, and believes even UEFA's Financial Fair Play measures won't stop them from paying extreme fees.

After losing out to noisy neighbors City for signing Samir Nasri from Arsenal last year, Ferguson is likely to face a similar fight for Lille's Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard.

"Nobody can match their financial power, no one. You have to accept that so we do it a different way. We have to look at younger players. It's been insane for a while, for a long time, and I think clubs like City create that," The Telegraph quoted Ferguson, as saying.

"We need to reassess the way we're going with that in terms of players. There's no doubt we'll be bringing players in. Maybe two or three, it depends on the kind of market we're dealing with," he added.

Asked whether the Financial Fair Play could stop City, Ferguson said: "I honestly don't see how it can work."

United face Swansea at home today while City travel to Newcastle in games that will be crucial in deciding the Premier League title. (ANI)
