Ex-Man U star Keane says PL title race not over, expects Man City to slip at Newcastle

   May 6, 3:50 pm

London, May 6(ANI): Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has said the Premier League title race is not over yet, and envisages title rivals Manchester City to lose points against Newcastle on Sunday at the Sports Direct Arena.

Keane, who played 480 games for United in a 13-year spell that saw him win seven Premier League titles, said he still thinks United can still win the Premier League, as they are the best club in England, with the best manager and the best set of supporters.

City is currently at the top of the league table, but only on goal difference and any slip up by them could again hand the initiative to United.

City put themselves in pole position by beating United last Monday, but Keane feels they will drop points against Newcastle.

"That defeat at the Etihad was not the end of the world for United," The Daily Star quoted Keane, as saying.

"I have said it before, United are still the best club. They still have the best manager, the best supporters and they can still win the league," he added.

"It's not all doom and gloom. I can see City slipping up at Newcastle . After winning at Chelsea on Wednesday night, they need a result as much as City. If United win their last two games, they'll win the league," he said. (ANI)
