Jailed footie fan admits 'sickening insults' on Twitter about stricken Muamba were 'massive mistake'

London, May 23 (ANI): A Twitter user, who had made totally insensitive insults about stricken Bolten striker Fabrice Muamba, has confessed that he had made a huge mistake by carrying out the act.

Liam Stacey, 21, had writted "F**k, Muamba. He's dead. Ha ha." as paramedics fought to save the Bolton player at Spurs' White Hart Lane after he suffered a severe cardiac arrest .

"I made a massive mistake," The Sun quoted Stacey, as saying.

He was jailed for 56 days in March after admitting sending the Tweet that branded him as "vile and abhorrent" by the judge.

Swansea Uni freed Stacey after half the sentence on the accounts of "genuine remorse". (ANI)
