England's 'world class matchwinners' Anderson and Swann 'as good as Warne and McGrath': Saker

   May 30, 12:56 pm

London, May 30 (ANI): Coach David Saker has said England bowlers of Jimmy Anderson and Graeme Swann are as good as Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne.

"It's a bit like when Jimmy and Swann bowl together, it is not unlike McGrath and Warnie at times," the Daily Mirror quoted Saker, as saying.

Saker who is currenly coaching England's bowlers, has spent the majority of his cricket career in a Victoria side that contained Warne.

"You can compare the two attacks. McGrath and Warne in tandem were amazing but I have seen some spells from Jimmy and Swanny that have been just as good or better at times," he said.

"In Sri Lanka, there were a couple of times, especially late on day four in the Second Test, those two reminded me so much of McGrath and Warne," he added.

According to the report, Anderson, Swann and Stuart Broad are in the top six in the world Test rankings, due to their remarkable performances on the pitch.

It now remains to be seen whether they can sustain their excellence for as long as Warne and McGrath did. (ANI)
