Fury over 'killer' UK club goalkeeper being freed on victims' death anniversary

   Jun 7, 4:21 pm

London, June 7(ANI): Swindon Town goalkeeper Luke McCormick, who was jailed for over seven years for killing two kids four year ago, has been released on the day of deceased victim's death anniversary, which has come as a final insult to the family of the departed kids.

Parents Amanda and Phil Peak were shocked to learn that McCormick, 28, was released on June 6.

Their sons Arron, ten, and eight-year-old Ben died four years ago after a drunk McCormick bumped his Range Rover into Phil's car.

Amanda called the timing of McCormick's release a 'disrespectful insult' to their memory.

"On a day when we should have been remembering our precious little boys, all we'll be doing is thinking, 'that b*****d's got his freedom back," the Sun quoted Amanda, as saying.

"To hear he was being let out on that date, it was honestly almost as bad as the day I found out I had lost them both. It's a catastrophic insult. What would a few extra days mean? He has already only served half his sentence," she added. (ANI)
