and singer Katherine Jenkins are the first three ambassadors secured by the British Olympic Association (BOA) to rack up support for the home team."This sort of thing is special and the difference between winning and second place. Our job is to galvanise the country's support to give them that little bit extra that will make a difference," News.com.au quoted Grylls, as saying."I've never met an athlete who doesn't love encouragement. To feel 60 million people behind you is definitely going to make a difference," he added. With the Games just 45 days away, more celebrities will be asked to nominate sports for which they will act as cheerleaders. The BOA is believed to be spending more than 13 million dollars on sending the biggest ever British team of athletes to the Games and is relying on public fundraising to avoid having to use reserves.
