Denmark's Bendtner faces UEFA action for brandishing underpants with bookie's name

   Jun 14, 12:36 pm

Johannesburg, June 14(ANI): Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner could face action from UEFA for ambush marketing following his goal celebration during their 3-2 defeat to Portugal on Wednesday, during which he dropped his shorts to reveal a gambling firm's name on his underpants.

The bookmaker sent a Twitter message with a photograph, minutes after the celebration, claiming that Bendtner was wearing his lucky underwear.

UEFA regulations for Euro 2012 require that 'all kit items worn during the final tournament must be free of any sponsor advertising,' Sports24 reports.

UEFA has sent a member of its marketing department to monitor each match for attempts to circumvent strict rules to protect official sponsors. (ANI)
