Toni Terry and Coleen Rooney show new WAGs how to get attention at Euro 2012
Jun 14, 2:24 pm
London, June 14 (ANI): As the WAGs arrived in Poland on Wednesday for Euro 2012, Toni Terry
and Coleen Rooney were determined to put on a show.John Terry's wife Toni, 31, wore a pair of six-inch nude heels and tight skinny jeans as she left the airport in Krakow for her hotel. She and Coleen are some of the few surviving WAGs - from the notorious 2006 World Cup in Baden-Baden, Germany, when the likes of Victoria Beckham and Alex Gerrard made headlines for their 57,000 pounds shopping sprees and attention-seeking behaviour. The 26-year-old seemed headed for the same path again as she boarded a private jet at a cost of 14,000 pounds to join her husband Wayne in Krakow. And to ensure no one missed her grand entrance, Coleen even Tweeted a photograph of herself boarding the flight with her two-year-son Kai and brother Anthony McLoughlin, captioning it as, 'Goodbye England...Hello Poland!!!'Showing her patriotic side, she chose Union Jack's colours while opting for a red and white gingham shirt teaming it with a red handbag and sky-high platform sandals. However, six years on, from Baden-Baden, Coleen and Teri have become veterans among a group of new, younger WAGs, many of whom are said to be more low-key than the seasoned footballer's wives.Kaya Hall, 20, girlfriend of Phil Jones, and Melanie Slade, who is engaged to Theo Walcott, both opted for more casual attire as they arrived for the tournament.Slade, 23, who recently qualified as a physiotherapist, walked arm-in-arm with her fiance as the players enjoyed a rare afternoon off with their partners.Walcott's family have decided not to travel after reports of racist crowds in Poland and the Ukraine. The arrival of
WAGs at the tournament signifies a shift in stance after previous manager Fabio Capello banned them, believing they distracted his players. While the England team have been granted more free time over the forthcoming weekend, they have been told that there will not be a repeat of the nightclub partying that spoiled chances of England's World Cup in Baden-Baden.Manager Roy Hodgson is believed to have told the players that he will allow a more relaxed regime than that enjoyed in South Africa in 2010, when players stayed in the relatively quiet area of Rustenburg and then complained of being bored. "There has to be a balance between the players training hard and playing well and being allowed some down-time with their partners," the Daily Mail quoted one FA source as saying. Coleen, who had been repeatedly 'tweeting' her intentions to join her husband, later posted a photo of Kai in a replica of his dad's shirt with 'Daddy 10' on the back and the message 'Can't wait to see Daddy'.Upon arrival, Coleen stepped off her private jet and into a black Mercedes people carrier, which whisked her through a VIP terminal. She later met Wayne, 26, at the Radisson Hotel, which is close to the England team base at the Stary Hotel. The rest of the partners are expected to fly out on Friday. (ANI)
