Paul Gascoigne sticks to energy drink at 'all-you-can-drink' Dubai party

London, June 24 (ANI): Paul Gascoigne shocked fans as he took the mic at a boozy "all-you-can-drink" bash in Dubai, sticking to just energy drink Red Bull.

Guests feared the England soccer legend, who turned alcoholic, would get smashed as he hosted a Euro 2012 party.

But the 45-year-old former footie star, stunned them by having 15 cans of the caffeine drink delivered to his table in an ice bucket.

Gascoigne, notorious for falling off the wagon as he battles his booze addiction, downed can after can as 150 expats enjoyed an "Evening with Paul Gascoigne" at the Towers Rotana hotel, where he is staying for a week.

They paid 95 pounds a head to hear him commentate as England beat Ukraine 1-0 on TV. The deal included as much booze as they could drink and a buffet, the Sun reported.

The ex-Spurs ace, who is on a health kick, spurned the roast beef, Yorkshire pud and chips for steamed fish, cauliflower, broccoli and carrots.

His diet may have been jeopardised by his calorie-packed fizzy drinks containing 27g of sugar per can, but it was the booze that many reckoned would be his downfall.

"Gascoigne plus Dubai plus unlimited booze, surely a scandal just waiting to happen?" one guest said before the bash. (ANI)
