NY Jets' backup quarterback Tebow adding Brazilian 'Jiu-Jitsu' to workout regime

   Jul 7, 4:58 pm

Washington, July 7(ANI): The New York Jets' high-profile backup quarterback Tim Tebow is busy learning Brazilian martial arts Jiu-Jitsu these days, and has been training alongside Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight Brendan Schaub under the tutelage of members of the famed Gracie family.

Rener Gracie , the grandson of the creator of this brand of martial arts that focuses on ground-fighting and taking down bigger foes, tweeted on Thursday that Tebow is 'a natural.'

Brother Ryron, who is one of the head instructors at the academy, praised the National Football League's (NFL) famous quarterback on Twitter earlier in the week.

"@TimTebow your athleticism/intelligence makes teaching Jiu jitsu even easier!" The New York Daily News quoted Ryron's tweet, as saying.

Tebow, who led the Broncos to the playoffs with his unorthodox, run-heavy style of quarterbacking in his second season in the NFL, was traded to the Jets in March after Denver signed future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning to take over the offense. (ANI)
