Jenson Button's girlfriend Jessica Michibata won't give up modeling career

London, July 11 (ANI): Jenson Button's girlfriend Jessica Michbata has said that she won't be sacrificing her modeling career for her millionaire F1 boyfriend, as she had forged her career long before she met him.

The 27-year-old model, whose mother is Japanese and father half-Spanish, maintained that she is not the typical WAG that may be found on the side of the football pitch.

"Definitely, I love to be there for Jenson," the Daily Mail quoted her as telling Grazia magazine.

"The football WAGs are amazing with all that hair done up, huge heels and the tans. We're not so...glamorous," she said.

The model had met 32-year-old Button in 2008 in a hotel bar in Tokyo and had originally perceived him to be a player, turning his first offer of a date down.

Eight months later she finally gave in to his pursuits but she made sure that she didn't rush into anything.

Button was at the lowest point in his career after finishing 18th in the championship and being dropped by sponsor Honda, but that didn't stop their relationship going from strength to strength.

The couple would spend their evenings cooking Japanese food together and talking about her native country, and her family quickly became avid fans of him.

Michibata realised how strong his love for her was in 2009 when he took the title of Formula One World Champion in Brazil and dedicated the win to her, live on TV.

She had been watching on a TV in Japan and he even missed his own victory party to call her in celebration.

However, two years down the line their relationship broke down because of the long distance and Button desperately wanted Michibata to give up her career to be with him along the way.

During their time apart they spoke constantly and rekindled the love six months later.

Determined not to give up her career, the couple now work hard to make their diaries match and Michibata flies to his races whenever she can and spends an increasing amount of time at his home in Monaco where her boyfriend often whisks her off for romantic weekend breaks.

But the pair won't be rushing into marriage anytime soon.

"Oh, I think we're very happy as we are," the model added. (ANI)
