Red wine helped Ferguson deal with 'noisy neighbor' Man City winning Premier League

   Jul 13, 3:36 pm

London, July 13(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has cheekily suggested that red wine helped him cope with noisy neighbours Manchester City winning the Premier League title on goal difference.

Ferguson has a collection of clarets in the cellar of his Cheshire home and lists wine as one of his major interests outside of his incredible passion for football, and his fondness for vintage red wine helped him beat the agony brought by City's well-bought success.

When asked how he had coped with losing the title in such excruciating manner in the dying seconds of the final day of last season, the Daily Mirror quoted Ferguson, as saying: " Red Wine helps."

The United boss refused to expand on his individual title torment, which he sought to pacify with his usual three-week break in the South of France, as well as a trip to Wimbledon to watch fellow Scot Andy Murray fall short in the final. (ANI)
