Man City to sell defender Kolo Toure to Turkish side Bursaspor

   Jul 13, 6:34 pm

London, July 13(ANI): Manchester City is set to sell defender Kolo Toure to the Turkish side Bursaspor in a six million pound transfer deal.

Bursaspor boss Ertugrul Saglam is in talks to sign defender Toure, who cost City 16 million pounds when he signed from Arsenal in 2009.

Toure is now behind Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott in the pecking order and, with one eye on UEFA's financial fair play rules, City are keen to recoup some of their huge transfer costs and trim Toure's 90,000 pound-a-week salary from the wage bill.

"We have been in talks with Kolo Toure over the past two days. It would be one of the most important transfers to be completed by the club," The Daily Express quoted Saglam, as saying.

"Nothing is certain until he puts pen to paper but we're working hard to finalise a deal," he added.

City are also confident Spain's David Silva will extend his contract, which has two years to run, to fend off interest from Real Madrid. (ANI)
