Mancini warns players against repeat of last season's 'last gasp' PL title 'drama'
Jul 19, 4:02 pm
London, July 19 (ANI):
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has told his players that he doesn't want a repeat of last season's late 'title drama', and urged them to win future titles more comfortably. The Italian reportedly wants them to retain their crown with a few games to spare in the coming season.City struck twice in stoppage time against QPR
to edge out rivals Manchester United in the Premier League finals last season."I hope if we win the title this year it will be a few games before. Winning it like we did is too difficult," The Sun quoted Mancini, as saying. The City boss has warned his players to forget about their historic Premier League triumph last season, and to start again from scratch to win it again in the 2012-13 season."We cannot rest or start thinking that because we won, we are the best. It is more difficult to win the title when you are defending champions," he said.Mancini said the winners tag is no guarantee for future success in the Premier League, as City won their first title in 44 years on goal difference.
