London, July 24 (ANI): Formula One ace driver Jenson Button has vowed to race like a champion for the rest of the season and to turn the tables on points leader Fernando Alonso .

Button has set his sights on replicating his title-winning season of 2009, and win six of the next seven races this season.

Button is bristling with confidence after technical director Paddy Lowe masterminded an incredible turnaround in their car's performance from panting also run at Silverstone to victory challenger in just 14 days in Germany.

"We might have to repeat 2009 in reverse, win six out of seven races in the second half of the season. That might have to be the case to challenge Fernando but it can happen. Look how he as picked up so many points but that can soon turn around," The Daily Mirror quoted Button, as saying.

"They have had the consistency but suddenly when if they have a fifth or sixth place, that can disrupt the organisation and make things go up in the air. Hopefully, we can push them into that situation."

Button finished a strong second at Hockenheim and at times threatened to deny Alonso his hat-trick. (ANI)
