Wiggins wary of shaving lucky sideburns ahead of London Olympics

   Jul 24, 2:16 pm

London, July 24(ANI): Britain's first ever Toure de France winner Bradley Wiggins has said he had thought of shaving his sideburns, but since they have become the talking point for many, he daren't shave them.

Wiggins is aiming to build on his historic Tour de France victory, and the trademark tufts will be in place as he competes in the London Olympic Games in just a few days.

"I've thought about shaving them off but as they've become a bit of a talking point I don't dare now," the Sun quoted Wiggins, as saying.

"I'm back home to relax with the wife and kids for a few days. I'm just going for a 20-mile spin on my bike - it's just a leg-stretcher for me," he added.

"It's nice to be back cycling in the lanes I know so well. Then on Wednesday I'm going to drive to London for the Olympics ," he said.

Wiggins snubbed a Tour bash to be with wife Cath and kids Ben, seven, and Isabella, five. (ANI)
