London Olympic organizers ask audience to 'save the surprise' for opening ceremony

   Jul 24, 7:27 pm

London, July 24 (ANI): London Olympic Games organisers have cleverly worked out a way to stop social media from leaking out opening ceremony secrets.

According to news.com.au, the organizers emblazoned 'savethesurprise' on the giant screens inside the Olympic Stadium during the rehearsals for the ceremony, which was in full swing before large audience.savethesurprise has now become a trending hashtag globally on twitter.

According to one tweeter, the show's maestro, Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle walked into the stadium and repeated the mantra.

The audience appeared to take heed.

Some did tweet cheeky messages, such as "I ain't saying anything about animals, clouds and model village,'' but overall there seemed to be a communal will to protect the ceremony's big reveals.

As Londoner Ben Matthews tweeted last night, "#savethesurprise is a great idea. A volunteer started it and now it's part of the Olympics".

Those who did post images that were deemed to be revealing too much of the show were quickly and broadly "flamed" by tweeters.

Another admirer, Nick Smith tweeted: "In awe. Experiencing this is... I'll never see anything as big as this again in my lifetime."

"Rarely have I been so proud to be British," said El Murphy.

Some images from the Opening Ceremony already have been leaked, and splashed across London. (ANI)
