Twitter co-founders back new 'curated discussion website' Branch

Washington, Mar 8(ANI): Twitter co-founders, Biz Stone and Evan Williams have backed a new website, Branch, which provides a platform 'for curated discussion' among experts.

"The prototype, called Branch enables a smart new brand of high quality public discourse. Curated groups of people are invited to engage around issues in which they are knowledgeable," The Telegraph quoted Stone, as saying.

"This service holds the promise of a new platform for dialogue on the web-a necessary departure from the monologues we have grown so accustomed to reading online. Obvious is thrilled to be partnering with such a friendly, gifted team on this project," he added.

Both Stone and Williams had quit Twitter in 2011 to focus on new ventures.

A technology site, The Next Web, described Branch as "some kind of public forum for discussion focus on people with expertise in a certain area, like Quora or Stack Exchange".

Twitter's current executive chairman Jack Dorsey, alongwith the pair had created the microblogging site in 2006 and they have now backed the new website through a separate company called 'Obvious'.

An Obvious statement has said that it will help the original developers to scale up the necessary technology and create the marketing, branding and design of the site. (ANI)
