US man sues Apple over 'misleading, deceptive' Siri ads

London, June 14 (ANI): An American man has reportedly sued Apple for false advertising, alleging that the company's commercials convey a 'misleading and deceptive message' about voice recognition app Siri's capabilities.

Frank M Fazio, who was enraged by his iPhone 4S's unpredictable accuracy and response time when asking its Siri digital assistant for directions, filed a class action lawsuit this week in California.

"In the commercials ... tasks are done with ease with the assistance of the iPhone 4S's Siri feature, a represented functionality contrary to the actual operating results and performance of Siri," Fazio said in his suit obtained by the Wall Street Journal.

According to he Journal, Fazio, who brought Apple iPhone in November, claimed that Siri is far less responsive in real life.

"When he asked for directions to a certain place, or to locate a store, 'Siri either did not understand what Plaintiff was asking, or, after a very long wait time, responded with the wrong answer," Fazio complained.

The lawsuit, which asks for unspecified damages, said Siri is "at best, a work-in-progress."

Meanwhile, an Apple spokeswoman declined to comment on the matter. (ANI)
