London, Aug 10 (ANI): Hacktivists of the notorious hacking group Anonymous reportedly attacked websites belonging to Ukrainian authorities, after a popular file-sharing site was forced to shut down.Demonoid, a BitTorrent site, was taken offline by law enforcement officers.According to the BBC, the U.S. had previously alleged that Demonoid was one of the most visited sites used to share pirated content, and many of its visitors are now concerned that their activities may be exposed.Ukraine-hosted Demonoid was taken down last week after local authorities contacted its Internet Service Provider (ISP) Colocall, following which, officials shut down the website.However, Colocall said that it had decided to cease Demonoid's service on its own accord and added "the decision to terminate the contract with Demonoid has been made without participation of the Ministry".Members of
Anonymous subsequently announced plans to attack "those responsible for the interruption" on AnonPR, a website designed to publicise the group's campaigns.Ukrainian officials confirmed that web pages belonging to the Ukrainian Anti-Piracy ssociation, the Ukrainian Agency for Copyright and Related Rights, and the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine, all became unavailable for a time, the report said.
