Working mums 'chronically exhausted insomniacs' hoping for simpler lives
Jul 1, 12:42 pm
Melbourne, July 1 (ANI):
Working mothers are chronically exhausted, stressed parents who lie awake at night worrying about bulging to-do lists, a new research has revealed.According to the Ipsos Mackay Report, while the mums would not turn back the gains of feminism, they are envious of the clear gender divide and simpler life lived by their mothers and grandmothers. "The full-time working mother is time poor and doing much more than their mothers and grandmothers in terms of being completely responsible for the family," the Daily Telegraph quoted research director Laura Demasi as saying. "And for some with kids come jobs, not careers. Professional women definitely felt as soon as they had kids, their careers became second class and their husband's careers always take precedence," she said.Working mums love being parents and don't regret having a family but admit their lives are a chaotic juggling act.Mother of three Nicola Sault juggles her home-making duties with her antique clothing business."You do feel a sense of achievement when you are on top of your washing and your ironing and the sheets are changed," Sault said.
