Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Aug 03 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday launched an electronic Health Card Scheme to combat non-communicable diseases (NCDs), becoming the first state in Southeast Asia to launch the facility. Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh launched the scheme during a programme organised in the capital city Shimla. The health card has been introduced with an aim to monitor NCDs and enable patients to update their health status for a healthy life. State’s Health Minister, Kaul Singh Thakur, said the facility would cover people who are not enrolled under any health scheme, adding that 10 diseases will be covered under it. Along with the health card, the state chief also launched five other schemes.
